Frequently Asked Questions:

How did you get into blogging?

Three years ago, I started a fashion blog called Diary of my Closet. It was an absolute "Okay, maybe I'll do alright at this" impulse decision at 3AM. Best impulse decision I've ever made.

What is your favorite thing about being a blogger?

I love the sense of community that I've found through blogging. I've met so many fun, intelligent and incredible people in the blogosphere!

How do you manage everything and what is your self-care plan?

I have a set schedule that I try to stick to. Being the perfectionist and 'Type A' personality that I am, I have just about everything either written down or in Google Cal (color coordinated, of course).

My self-care plan involves a lot of Netflix. When I'm having an "off day", I'm often able to recognize that my depression or anxiety has hit me hard.

Whenever this happens, it's guaranteed that I'll either be writing about what's going on or stuck in a "okay depression, you can go away now" Netflix binge.

There is absolutely no shame in coming to the realization that you need to take care of yourself.

Why the name 'gingham & ginger'?

The name Gingham + Ginger just clicked to me. There were actually quite a few variations, Gingham + Ginger didn't ultimately tie me to a specific niche and it was extremely flexible.

What is your favorite thing about being a college student

Hands down, my major! Switching to psychology was something that I thought about for quite a while, and once I took the plunge I knew it was the right choice. It's great to know that I have finally found a major that aligns with my passions and goals.

Who designed your site and who takes your blog pictures?

I personally designed my site without the help of a designer. It took quite a few months to get everything perfect, but switching over to Squarespace did wonders.

The amazing Shaye Babb used to take my pictures when I lived in Florida. It's going to take me a few weeks until I get settled here in New England, but stay tuned for outfit shoots.

As far as flat lays go, I take them myself. And boy, are they a pain!
